Beginning Developing Accomplished Exemplary
Problem identification Elementary understanding of some of the problems involved. Able to identify a significant problem but unable to connect the problem to a relevant gas law. Able to clearly demonstrate the application of a pertinent gas law to the assigned scenario. Specific and detailed application. Same as “Accomplished” but includes quantitative information and is highly analytical.
Product Product content is not reasonable or demonstrates a misunderstanding of the gas laws. Product is reasonable but not connected to a gas law. Product demonstrates a clear understanding of relevant gas laws. Same as “Accomplished” but includes quantitative information and is highly analytical .
Research content Little evidence of research or information is irrelevant. Contains some relevant research information but is limited in scope. Research information forms the foundation for understanding the problem. Research information is detailed and forms the foundation for understanding the problem and the solution.
Mechanics Rudimentary communication. Communication is unclear and/or possesses significant mechanical errors or is not a technological presentation i.e. word processor, spread sheet, graphic program etc. Very few errors. The style is appropriate for a technical product. Has no communication errors and demonstrates a high level of communication skill by weaving analysis into a cohesive body of communication.
Excellent presentation.

State the problem. Use information from the "scenario" but don't plagiarize.

Give technical background information.

Give historical background information.

Proposal (heading)

Describe your proposed solution to the problem.

Include a list of supplies and equipment that will be needed.

Give a break down of the costs involved. In a real proposal it would be very important that these costs be realistic and based on research. However, in this case you can give an estimate.

Describe the qualifications of your team. Include past experience with similar assignments (You should be creative here.)

Report the likelihood of success.
