High-School Building Technology Coordinator Position (Technology Leadership
Coordinator)
Nature of Position:
The responsibilities of this position fall into five major categories:
1. Technical support
- assisting students by monitoring student accounts, logins, and passwords as well as helping with general computer and network issues/questions
- assisting teachers by monitoring their accounts, logins, and passwords as
well as helping with network applications/issues/questions
- evaluating hardware and software issues to determine if it is something
that can be fixed by the BTC or needs to be referred to CTS
- maintaining an accurate up-to-date inventory of hardware/software in the
building
2. Staff Development
- working with the Secondary Technology Leader to arrange for staff development
- assisting Secondary Technology Leader with curriculum integration and instruction in the use of technology
- encouraging and often training teachers to use technology as both an instructional
tool and a classroom assessment tool
- surveying teachers to gather information about their technology goals
- connecting computer technology to the PPS Learning Results
3. Dissemination of Information
- participating with the Cluster Coordinators in assisting the Principal in
the overall operation of the school
- administering the annual Teacher Technology Profile
4. Long-range Planning
- long-range technology planning with Cluster Coordinators, building Principal, District Technology Coordinator and Technology Leader
- maintaining the Building Technology Plan with assistance from building tech committee.
- gathering input from teachers in building
- assessing the technology staff development needs based on the Teacher Technology Profiles.
- Communication
- communicating with building and district-level teaching and technical support
staff
- attending monthly district level meetings
- collecting, communicating, and disseminating information between the CTS
and school
- gathering and reporting assessment data
- assisting with electronic attendance and standards-based assessment
- reporting of building-level data for District Technology Plan
Qualifications
- Demonstration of computer skills with curriculum applications, including
electronic attendance and standards-based assessment
- Demonstration of knowledge of connections of the Learning Results to classroom
use of technology
- Successful experience in the building where based
Special Requirements of Work
- Teacher work year
- Will carry a reduced class load
