Policy Committee Meeting Minutes

June 27, 2007

The following policies were reviewed for acceptance or changes.

• NEPN/NSBA Code: EBCF Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
• ECC Energy Policy
• NEPN/NSBA Code: EEA Student Transportation Services
• NEPN/NSBA Code: EHB School Records Retention Policy (with minor word changes the draft created by Drummond-Woodsum was accepted)
• NEPN/NSBA Code: GCOA Supervision and Evaluation of Professional Staff
• NEPN/NSBA Code: BBAB Student Representation to the School Committee (Student Representative Quinn questioned the need for the strict timelines delineated in the “Administrative Guidelines for Student Representatives (BBAB-2). Discussion followed both for – mirrors timelines for school committee elections- and against –schools should determine their own timelines. The issue will be carried to a school committee meeting to allow the other student representatives a chance to speak to the policy. Also there is need for clarification on the policy statement “…and invited to participate as voting members on standing committees.”
• NEPN/NSBA Code: IMB Teaching About Controversial/Sensitive Issues

No substantive changes were made to any of the above policies. However, some wording was changed to make the policies clear and cohesive.
