Mr. Eglinton called the meeting to order at 4pm.

 

Members present: Robert O’Brien, Elizabeth Holton, Sarah Thompson, Simon Thompson, Justin Costa, Jaimey Caron, Rebecca Minnick, Marnie Morrione, Kathleen Snyder, John Gjika, Ness Smith-Savedoff, and Peter Eglinton

 

Invocation:  By Rev., Kitsy Winthrop, First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, Portland

 

Pledge of Allegiance led by Alexandra and Amanda Thompson.

 

Linda Cohen, City Clerk, swore in new School Committee members.

 

Roll Call – Members present: Ed Bryan, Elizabeth Holton, Sarah Thompson, Bijou Umuhoza, Justin Costa, Jaimey Caron, Jenna Vendil, Marnie Morrione, Kathleen Snyder, Mohamed Abdirahman, Noah Lupica, and Peter Eglinton

 

Ms. Thompson moved,  Ms. Holton seconded  to appoint Peter Eglinton as School Committee Chairperson for the 2009-2010 school year.

 

Ms. Thompson spoke to the motion

 

It was voted unanimously to appoint Peter Eglinton as School Committee Chairperson for the 2009-2010 school year.  Students voted with the majority.

Ms. Morrione moved and Ms. Holton seconded  to appoint Kathleen Snyder as Finance Committee Chairperson for the 2009-2010 school year.

 

Ms. Morrione spoke to the motion.

 

It was voted unanimously to appoint Kathleen Snyder as Finance committee Chairperson for the 2009-2010 school year.  Students voted with the majority.

 

Mr. Eglinton announced the next meeting of the School Committee – Wed., Dec. 16, 2009, with a Workshop beginning at 6 p.m., and Business Meeting at 7 p.m., in Room 250 at Casco Bay High School.

Ms. Thompson moved, Ms. Snyder seconded  and it was voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 4:45pm. Students voted with majority.
