MINUTES

In attendance:    Jaimey Caron, Peter Eglinton, Herb Hopkins, Sarah Thompson, and Jeanne Whynot-Vickers

Absent:               Lori Gramlich, Jules Szanton

 

1.      Plan for Sustainable Education Quality

a.       Reviewed plan and discussed revisions.

b.      Emphasize need for one or more Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to document existing areas of collaboration between City and PPS; specify MOU content

c.       In “Action Plan for Additional Measures” section, highlight specific priorities for FY2009

                                                   i.      MOU(s) on existing collaborations

                                                 ii.      Replenishing fund balance

                                                iii.      West school

                                               iv.      Co-location of City and PPS administrative staff

d.      Peter will revise and distribute draft report

e.       Central Office staff will send example MOUs and/or invoices

                                                   i.      Parks and Recreation, transportation

                                                 ii.      Expo

                                                iii.      Library

 

2.      Other

a.       Ann Chapman (DrummonWoodsum) intends to send proposed revisions to finance policies by October 10.

b.      Peter will provide copies of materials from the September 26 Maine Heritage Policy Center Symposium on teacher pay and teacher quality.

c.       Peter asked subcommittee members to identify areas to address during upcoming budget development meetings.
