MINUTES

 

In attendance:  Jaimey Caron, Jim Morse, Kate Snyder, Liz Holton, Herb Hopkins,

Robert O’Brien, Peter Eglinton, and Kate Snyder

 

  1. Human Resource Software Option:  PayChex   Joline Hart / Scott Wyman

-           Scott Wyman spoke on the topic and introduced Jerrod Jantashio from PayChex.

-           Jim Morse looked to hear opinions of the chair and the committee.  Hearing no objection aside from any money, will go forward.

            -           This item will be moved to the next Finance Committee meeting agenda.

 

  1. First Quarter Year-To-Date Report      Herb Hopkins

-           Next quarterly report will be done in January.

-           “Hard” spending freeze now.

-           Kate clarified that the Finance Committee will receive monthly YTD reports

(middle of the month), quarterly reports in October, January, and May and will receive these ahead of time, along with a cover memo, to put on the agenda.

 

  1. Elementary World Language Coordinator Status  Jill Blackwood / Carlos Gomez

 

-           The full School Committee indicated unanimous support for initiative to develop

an elementary program by providing funds in the FY10 budget.  In the absence of that money (re-allocated) an alternative approach will be pursued by staff -- with the Finance Committee's knowledge.

 

  1. FY10Curtailment Resolution Update            Jim Morse

-           Will have package ready by the deadline.

 

Reminder of Joint City Council/School Finance Committee meeting tomorrow night at 4:30 in room 209 at City Hall.
