PATHS/CBHS Staffing Analysis
PATHS:
Master schedule by teacher reviewed
Dana reviewed the level process- the intent of the “levels process” is to assist program instructors experiencing low enrollment, or experiencing other program growth problems to receive ongoing assistance and feedback for their programs.
The level process consists of 3 levels- level 1 initial phase in which programs are identified as having enrollment concerns- level II is prescriptive and requires several steps and level 3 is the final phase and is implemented when level I and level II action strategies do not result in satisfactory enrollment
Reviewed which programs we have that are duplicative in Westbrook; which programs considered special ed specifically= Fast Foods, Woodworking and Landscape Management is being considered
Only tech school in the state that has an art concentration
Art cluster= Commercial Art, dance, Fashion Marketing, Graphic Arts and Printing, Music and New Media (Video)
Reviewed October 1st #’s- school enrollment and % sent, also reviewed historical data from 94-95 school year to present with program and # of students stated
CBHS:
Reviewed school schedule-
Crew- meets 3x per week and one is during lunch
All teacher teach 4 yr long classes- 8cr., crew = 1 cr, 2 intensives= .5 each=10,
All teachers have this load unless they are .5
No credit for academic support
Crew is given a credit as it is teaching time
Classes typically meet every other day, humanities every day, do not have the same humanities teacher each day
For students participating at PATHS they go in the afternoon
All 9th grade teachers have all 9th gr students and so on by year for team support- it is instructional time but is also fluid
Offer 4 yrs of these classes but no electives beyond in this area- English, Social Studies, Math and Science
Health/PE- offer 3 cr.-need to graduate, Visual Arts-need to graduate
CBHS and PATHS share custodians and nurse
CBHS has librarian in their budget but PATHS uses as well
1 person assigned to CBHS for food svc.
˝ French and 1 FT Spanish teachers
Executive skills= organization skills
Director of College, Career and Citizenship is their guidance counselor and oversees 1 crew as well-coordinating crew curriculum
