Introduction

Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.

The arts are a fundamental part of a person’s life, vital in building self-esteem, an essential element in a complete education. The arts are not so much a result of inspiration and innate talent as they are a person’s capacities for creative thinking and imagining, problem solving, and critical judgement.

Recent research on learning has proven that people learn not just through the linguistic and mathematical methods of traditional schooling but through seven intelligences. Children do not merely absorb or memorize knowledge; they construct it through one or more of their multiple intelligences.
The arts, reflecting this research on learning, provide expanded opportunities and modes for students to express and apply creative and critical thinking skills.

Through expression and discovery the arts add a special vibrancy and outlook to learning. As the students show how they are smart in various multiple intelligences, they experiences success; their successes breed more success; their self esteem increases......as they are enriched......so is society.
