King Middle School Windsor 8 students have been doing some future planning for the city of Portland in a learning expedition called “Portland-ability.” On Jan. 24, they presented the results of their work to Mayor Ethan Strimling, neighborhood association members, members of the planning and urban development boards and community members.
The students developed comprehensive future plans for specific neighborhoods in the city. These plans looked into the use of public space, energy and housing. In addition, students investigated sustainable energy sources, which was a primary goal of their plans.
The public presentation was the culminating event for their expedition.
