Nutrition Services Resources for Parents

The Portland Board of Public Education has recently adopted a new set of wellness related policies, including nutrition guidelines, available on this page. 

Healthier US School Challenge has a compliant products calculator.  Visit their website here, select gold award level, and enter the information from the nutrition label on the food you wish to check.  The site will tell you whether the products meets their standard which has been selected by Portland Schools for food.

The Alliance for a Healthier Generation has a compliant product calculator.  Visit their website here, and enter the information from the nutrition label on the beverage you wish to check.  The site will tell you whether the products meet their standard, which has been selected by Portland Schools for beverages.  (Please keep in mind, this standard and calculator do allow low calorie soda products which are not allowed under the Portland Schools policies.)
