Summer Programs Pre-K-12 Programs main page | Family Welcome Center | English Language Learning Program | Summer Programs | Multicultural Resource Library | Parent Outreach The Multilingual Summer Academic Program is a four-week intensive summer school for ELLs. The goal of the program is to maintain and further develop English language reading, writing, listening, speaking, and comprehension skills gained during the school year. It is a hands-on, developmentally appropriate, and child-centered program with field experiences. The summer program for secondary students focuses on academic English reading and writing, the English that one needs to excel in math, science, and social studies. To help students meet rigorous State and local standards, READ 180, a program for struggling readers, is used to accelerate the development of their literacy skills and vocabulary. For more information about summer school, please contact Margie MacDonald at 874-8135.
