Book: B

Section: Board Governance and Operations

Title: PROCEDURE IN PREPARING PORTLAND BOARD OF PUBLIC EDUCATION AGENDAS

Code: BEDB-R

Status: Active

Last Revised: March 3, 2016

The Superintendent maintains an ongoing list of issues, matters needing action, and requests from School Board members, staff and public for consideration for future agendas.

Each week the Board Chair meets with the Superintendent to discuss and construct upcoming Board agendas.

The Executive Assistant to the Superintendent prepares the School Board Packet, which includes the agenda and its supporting documents to include executive summaries.

No later than five days prior to a regular School Board meeting, and no later than three days (72 hours) prior to a special meeting, the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent electronically disseminates the entire packet to School Board members, all school administration, school union leaders, PTO presidents, media, and any community members who have requested to receive it directly. The packet is posted to the web page on the same day.
