GIFTED STUDENTS
Recognizing that some students are gifted with unusual learning abilities and/or talents, the Portland school system shall endorse the concept of each student progressing as quickly as he/she can, and that his/her academic program shall be sufficiently flexible to provide growth at his/her academic level.
In so far as feasible, the teacher shall afford the student opportunities to progress at a more rapid rate and with activities that will give the student access to more stimuli and expert guidance in his/her special areas of interest.
