Families, Friends, and Supporters of Portland Public Schools,
We are excited to begin conversations with you about bringing in a new leader for Portland Public Schools. As we shared, the Portland Board of Public Education created a Superintendent Search Committee, made up of eight community members from a variety of stakeholder groups and four Board members, to spearhead the search for our new Superintendent.
Your voice is critically important to this search process. We have thoughtfully planned for a robust and transparent process inclusive of community and stakeholder input. Of particular interest is your perspective on the most important responsibilities of our next Superintendent and the skills needed to be successful in the role. We have partnered with Alma Advisory Group, a professional search firm whose work aligns with the central equity goal of the district’s strategic plan, to assist us with a national search for the best candidates to fill this role.
The Portland Board of Public Education invites you to attend and share your thoughts on what is most important for the role of superintendent. Refreshments, interpretation, childcare provided!

As the School Board and Superintendent Search Committee begin the search for a new superintendent of Portland Public Schools, we want your input on what you see as the most important responsibilities, goals, and skills needed for the role of superintendent. Your voice is really important to us in this process, and we hope you can be as candid as possible as we work to learn what matters most for this role, the school district, and its needs.
We care a great deal about your point of view. Please know that results are both anonymous and confidential. Your voice is essential in this process!
