Multilingual and Multicultural Center
The Portland Public Schools recognizes the special needs of members of linguistic and cultural minority groups who are limited English proficient (LEP). In order to ensure equal access to public education, Portland Public Schools is committed to providing access to interpreter and translation services during school hours for all students and family members.
From initial intake at the Multilingual and Multicultural Center to school meetings such as parent/teacher conferences and parent education meetings, parents are provided interpretation and translation services by Parent Community Specialists and/or Native Language Facilitators who speak their language and understand their culture.

Data and Information Technology
The Data and Technology Department serves students, educators, and staff across the district by providing high-quality data and reliable, innovative technology solutions that support teaching, learning, and operations. The department encompasses three core teams:
- Data Team, which ensures the accuracy, accessibility, and integrity of district data systems, delivers required reporting to state and federal agencies, and empowers staff to use data for informed decision-making;
- IT Team, which provides direct support to technology users, maintains staff and student devices, supports technology integration in schools, and manages the district’s infrastructure—including systems, software, and networks—to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing technology across all buildings; and
- Enrollment and Intake Team, which plays a critical role in maintaining accurate student records, processing enrollments and transfers, and supporting multilingual learners.
