The Chapter 104 Resource Consultation and Collaboration Model is designed to pool the expertise of the General Education teacher and the Chapter 104 Consultant.  Collaborative planning meetings are for the General Education teacher and the Chapter 104 Consultant to develop instructional and learning activities that meet the daily needs of  high aptitude learners. 

Classroom Teacher

  • Articulates learning targets/Common Core Standards
  • Communicates the Chapter 104 students’ needs for the unit 
  • Is responsible for curriculum delivery
  • Assesses and grades learning

 

 

 

 

 

Overlap

  • Co-evaluate assessments
  • Meet together on a regularly weekly or bi-weekly basis
  • Collaborate to design learning experiences for Chapter 104 students
  • Communicate with families

 

 

 

 

 

The Consultant

  • Designs curriculum connected to learning targets and Common Core Standards
  • Embeds Professional Development about Gifted Education and provides ways to use process, product, and/or content for Chapter 104 students/high aptitude learners
  • Pushes into classes as needed when it is determined in the planning process
  • Utilizes best practices in Gifted Education to meet the needs of Chapter 104 students
