Budget and Revenue Advisory Task Force

The Budget and Revenue Advisory Task Force was established by the Board of Public Education in May of 2013 to, "...identify financial opportunities in support of the District's work."

The Budget and Revenue Advisory Task Force members were:

The Task Force delivered its final report to the Board in March of 2014 with a number of recommendations.


The Education Foundation Steering Committee (EFSC) was formed and staffed at the direction of the Superintendent of Schools to continue the work of the Budget & Revenue Advisory Task Force (established by Resolution, May 28, 2013).

The central recommendation contained within the Final Report of the Budget & Revenue Task Force (dated March 25, 2014) is “the establishment of a nonprofit educational foundation interlocking with the Portland School District to raise substantial private funds for critical “at-risk” elements."

To this end, the EFSC is charged with conducting research, studying options and making recommendations for the establishment of an education foundation. Deliverables to include: policy recommendation, operational guidelines, resource requirements, governance structure, proposed mission and vision statements, and year-one implementation plan.
