High school graduation exercises for the Portland Public Schools Class of 2025 will all take place at Merrill Auditorium. The district’s three high schools will hold their commencement ceremonies on June 4 and 5. Here are the details:
● Portland High School: PHS’ 204th commencement ceremony will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4.
● Deering High School: DHS’ 151st graduation exercises will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 5.
● Casco Bay High School: CBHS’ 17th commencement ceremony will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 5.
The Portland Public Schools is Maine’s largest school district, with nearly 6,500 students, and it’s also the most diverse. About one-third of the district’s students come from homes where languages other than English are spoken—a total of 59 languages. Approximately 47 percent of the district’s students are white and 53 percent are students of color. More than half of all PPS students are economically disadvantaged.
