Deering High School is excited to announce its 150th Open House celebration, set to take place on Saturday, May 11 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. As part of Deering’s ongoing commitment to our community and alumni, the school invites everyone to an unforgettable journey through the halls of history.

The event celebrating the 150^th anniversary of Deering High School, which was established in 1874, will host an array of activities designed to evoke cherished memories and create new ones. Guests will have the opportunity to take self-guided tours or guided tours led by knowledgeable National Honor Society students, who will be on hand to answer questions and provide insights into the school's rich heritage.

In addition to tours, the Open House will feature a special screening of a documentary film produced by Deering’s Film Studies department, showcasing the vibrant history and spirit of Deering High School. Yearbooks dating back through the decades will be on display in the library, offering a nostalgic glimpse into the past for alumni and visitors alike.

Sports enthusiasts will delight in the display of cherished memorabilia, including vintage cheer uniforms and other relics from Deering's athletic legacy. Attendees are encouraged to leave their mark on our history by contributing to a guest book or sharing memories at a designated station.

Throughout the event, tickets for Deering’s upcoming 90’s dance will be available for purchase, offering a sneak peek at the fun-filled festivities to come. And what celebration would be complete without delicious food?

The highlight of the day will undoubtedly be the group picture scheduled for 12:30 pm, bringing together generations of Deering alumni and friends for a timeless snapshot of school pride. Additionally, Documentary Film Studies students will host an interview booth, capturing personal stories and reflections from attendees to preserve for future generations.
