The Foundation for Portland Public Schools (FPPS) invites the community to Spring for Teachers, a celebration of Portland teachers. Spring for Teachers will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 5 p.m. to7 p.m. at Bunker Brewing Co.
The event will include the presentation of the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Awards, where Renee Fay-LeBlanc (Portland High School, class of 1992), Noor Al Dulaimi (Portland Adult Education, class of 2017), Sydney Kucine (Casco Bay High School, class of 2013), and Heather Sawyer (Deering High School, class of 1995) will be honored for their achievements.
The event will also feature live music, a buffet of international appetizers, and beer for purchase.

The Portland Public Schools is Maine’s largest school district, with approximately 6,500 students, and it’s also the most diverse. Approximately 47 percent of the district’s students are white and 53 percent are students of color. More than half of all PPS students are economically disadvantaged.
