Kate Hersom has been selected as the new assistant director of Portland Adult Education, with a start date this fall.

Kate is joining PAE from the Portland Public Schools Central Office Finance Team and has years of experience in pre-K through grade 12 public education as a district and building administrator. She has served on a variety of state and local committees as an advocate for underserved populations, and has a master's in educational leadership from Cambridge College.

Having lived in Portland for the past 20 years, she is excited to join the team at PAE in providing enrichment opportunities and workforce development support to the residents of her community.

Kate's appointment will come before the Board of Public Education at an upcoming meeting for formal approval.
