Cedar Levin, a senior at Portland High School in the dance program at Portland Arts and Technology High School is PATHS Student of the Year for 2024-2025! Cedar has been part of the PATHS dance program for two years, where she excels in every aspect.
Each of Maine’s 27 career and technical education (CTE) center annually selects a student of the year. A ceremony was held May 3 at Eastern Maine Community College to honor the Maine CTE students of the year. Cedar is dedicated to the daily pursuit of technical growth across all styles of dance and has quickly become a strong and expressive dancer and performer. Her approach to learning is comprehensive — she embraces every opportunity to grow, create, and collaborate. Cedar's hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment consistently result in high-quality personal development and a noticeable elevation in the overall standard of the class.
Cedar exemplifies the traits of a leader. She brings people together, inspires those around her, and helps everyone — herself included — reach their full potential. She is a mature, respectful, and self-motivated student who is deeply committed to rigorous learning. She is also an enthusiastic leader and an empathetic, supportive classmate. Her positivity and genuine passion for dance have been instrumental in fostering a classroom culture rooted in mutual respect, collaboration, and joy.
Cedar plans to continue her dance education at the University of Miami in the fall.
