Join us for Sips, Sweets, and Stories, the Portland Public Schools’ Make It Happen spring fundraiser!

This unforgettable cultural tasting experience will take place on April 16 at Ocean Gateway Pier from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. All funds will go to support of Make It Happen, a program that provides multilingual students with a pathway to academic success and college readiness.

At Sips, Sweets, and Stories, you’ll sample a wide assortment of international desserts, generously donated by local businesses and community members. These dishes celebrate the rich cultural diversity of Portland, offering a taste of traditions from around the globe.

At this unique event, you’ll also enjoy a selection of international drinks, kindly donated by local businesses and community partners, that will transport your taste buds all around the world. 

In addition, Make it Happen students will share their stories through personal narratives, poems, and performances that reflect their multilingual and multicultural heritage. These inspiring presentations showcase not only the academic development, leadership, and confidence they’ve gained through the program but also the resilience, triumphs, and personal growth that have shaped their journeys.

By attending Sips, Sweets, and Stories, you’ll support Make it Happen students in pursuit of their academic goals and post-secondary plans. Your contribution will help provide enrichment activities, SAT prep, academic coaching, college visits, and more—critical resources that empower these students to succeed.
