Dear High School Families,

We are excited to announce the upcoming High School Summer School offerings for Portland Public Schools. We have designed these programs to provide various opportunities for students to enhance their academic experience during the summer break. We encourage you to take advantage of these programs to support your student's educational journey.

1. Credit Recovery Opportunities:

For students who need to make up credits in order to stay on track for graduation, we will be offering Credit Recovery courses. These courses are designed to help students meet the necessary academic requirements and progress toward their diploma. If your student needs credit recovery, please contact the program coordinator at your student's school to discuss registration and available course options.

2. Enrichment Intensives:

To offer additional enrichment opportunities, we will be providing Intensive programs in various academic areas. These intensives aim to deepen students' knowledge and skills in specific subjects. The courses will be engaging and challenging, allowing students to explore their interests further. If your child is interested in participating in an Enrichment Intensive, please reach out to the program coordinator at your student's school for more information and enrollment details.

3. Summer Bridge Program for Rising 9th Graders:

We understand that transitioning from middle school to high school can be a significant step for students. To support this transition, we are offering a Summer Bridge Program specifically designed for rising 9th graders. During this program, students will have the opportunity to meet their teachers, learn more about what it means to be a high schooler, and acquire foundational content knowledge. The Summer Bridge Program will help ease their transition and prepare them for a successful start in high school. If you have a student entering 9th grade in the upcoming school year, please contact the program coordinator at your student's school to register for the Summer Bridge Program.

Each high school within our district will be hosting these programs at their respective locations. The dates for each program vary, and you can find them listed below.
