The Portland Public Schools family extends deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mary "Kay" Richards Lussier, 80, of Portland, who passed away Dec. 20, 2024, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.  She had a long career as a registered nurse and worked as a substitute nurse at the Portland Public Schools for many years before her retirement. She was fondly known as “Nurse Mary” to many staff and students in various schools throughout PPS. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, both longtime PPS employees: Erin Lussier Tosi, Human Resources generalist at Central Office; and her husband Gregory Tosi, Deering High School athletic trainer.

A burial mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope Parish at St. Pius X Church on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM at 492 Ocean Avenue in Portland. A reception will follow at Bruno's Restaurant in Portland. Interment will take place in the spring at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Cemetery in Fair Haven, Vermont. Read Mary Lussier’s obituary.
