Open Your Home, Open Their World: Host an American Exchange Project Student!

CBHS is looking for host families! From June 18-25, you have the incredible opportunity to open your home and your heart to a student(s) participating in the American Exchange Project. That unique domestic exchange program connects young Americans from diverse backgrounds  and different communities around our country with students and other members of another community – such as Portland – to foster understanding and build bridges across our nation.

By hosting an AEP Student you can make a real difference by providing a life-changing experience for a young person, broadening their perspective and fostering empathy. Hosting requires providing a safe, comfortable place to stay, meals, and inclusion in your family's daily activities. As you share your daily life and traditions, you’ll gain insights into different cultures and perspectives, enriching your own understanding of America.

If you're ready to make a difference and create unforgettable memories, apply to host an AEP student.

What to Expect:

  • Students from around the country are selected based on their enthusiasm, maturity, and desire to learn. They are eager to participate in your family's routine and explore your community.
  • You'll have the support of the AEP organization throughout the hosting period.
  • You will receive a $250 stipend. All activities are covered by the program.
  • Dates: June 18-25, 2025
