Instead of SchoolMessenger, the district will now be using the ReachMyTeach platform to send messages to families and staff.

Many families are already familiar with ReachMyTeach, because the district subscribes to it. ReachMyTeach was created by a Deering High School student-teacher team that sought to make it easy for families, students, and teachers to connect in ways and languages that work for them. The platform enables a message to be sent in English and families to read and respond in their preferred language from their preferred platform (email, text, WhatsApp). The sender gets their message back in English. ReachMyTeach strengthens school communities with instant and automatic translation of email, text, WhatsApp, and PDFs. It easily enables two-way communication so families can better engage with the Portland Public Schools.
