The Portland Public Schools family extends deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Val Hart, formerly an ESL educator at Portland Adult Education and Portland High School and an intake coordinator for the district, who passed away Nov. 11, 2025. Val was also known to many as the beloved husband of Dr. Grace Valenzuela, our district's executive director of family and community partnerships.
