Winter Boot Drive To Help PPS Kids!

The Rotary Club of Portland, Maine is working with the Portland Public Schools to provide warm, waterproof winter boots to Portland students. There is a huge need as many families are experiencing a Maine winter for the first time.

We are reaching out to the Portland community for “gently used boots” and also new boots that we can provide to these students in need. We are looking for 150 pairs of boots for children in K through 5th grade, ages 5 to 11. We’re also looking for 25 pairs of boots for students in 6th through 8th grades, ages 12-14.

If you have “gently used” boots you would like to donate or if you would like to purchase boots to donate, you can drop them off at Lamey Wellehan Shoes locations in Falmouth and Scarborough. They have collection boxes available.

Lamey Wellehan has donated 38 pairs of boots and will be allowing Portland Rotary to purchase boots at cost.  Thank you, Lamey Wellehan!!

If you would like to make a monetary contribution, you can go to Portland Rotary’s website to learn more about the 2022 Winter Boot Drive and donate online.

The deadline for the Winter Boot drive is November 27th, 2022.

Thank you in advance for your generosity in helping to keep children’s feet warm and dry during the winter months.
