The Mitchell Institute is excited to continue offering scholarships to public school students from across the state of Maine. This year, in addition to awarding at least one $10,000 scholarship annually to a graduating student from each of the 135 public high schools in Maine, the Mitchell Institute will award 20 more scholarships across the state, bringing the annual total to $1.55M in support for the class of 2023 Mitchell Scholars. Along with offering the scholarship support, the Mitchell Institute opens doors to numerous resources and programs for Mitchell Scholars.
Here are some details about who is eligible:

2023 graduates from one of Maine's 135 public high schools

Full-time residents of Maine

Students planning to enroll in two- or four-year college degree programs in Maine or out of state.
Candidates are evaluated based on academics, community impact, and financial need. To apply, eligible high school students must submit an online application form between January 1 and April 1 in the spring before they graduate. Learn more and apply.
