Congratulations to Portland Arts and Technology High School (PATHS) Automotive Program students William Cuttler and Harrison Behnke for recently placing first in the Ford ACE Student Automotive Skills Competition. The Ford ACE (Automotive Career Exploration) student automotive skills competition is a prestigious event designed to test the skills and knowledge of high school automotive students. Participants compete in various hands-on and theoretical challenges that assess their proficiency in automotive diagnostics, repair, and technology. “Competing against seven other automotive programs from across Maine, William and Harrison demonstrated exceptional expertise and teamwork to secure first place,” said Paul Fearon, instructor in the PATHS Automotive Program. “As winners, they have been awarded room and board scholarships worth $5,500 each to Central Maine Community College (CMCC). Additionally, they received over $2,500 in tool prizes, enhancing their future careers in automotive technology. The PATHS Automotive program also received a remarkable prize: a brand-new 2024 Mustang GT, generously donated by Ford Motor Company. This victory highlights the dedication and talent of both students and their instructors, setting a high standard for future competitions. Congratulations once again to William Cuttler and Harrison Behnke for this remarkable achievement!”
