Deering High School Drama students will present “The Women of Lockerbie,” a one-act play, on Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2, at 7 p.m.
The play by Deborah Brevoort is inspired by a true story. A New Jersey mother searches the hills of Lockerbie, Scotland, looking for the remains of her son, lost in the crash of Pan Am 103. She meets the women of Lockerbie, who are fighting to win permission from the U.S. government to obtain the clothing of the victims of the downed plane to wash and return the items to the victim’s families. The women aim to transform an act of hatred into an act of love.
Performances will be at the high school, located at 370 Stevens Avenue. Tickets are $3 and will be sold at the door. Call 207-874-8260 for more information.
