Lincoln Middle School students in classes taught by science teachers Christel Driscoll and Franklin Sames have the opportunity to engage in varied and challenging STEM learning.
For example, Driscoll and Sames recently welcomed WGME 13's Jeff Peterson to their sixth-grade Applied Science class where they learn about the engineering process through collaborative projects. A few of the students were interviewed and spoke about the hands-on STEM projects they engineer in class.
The piece aired as a feature on WGME13's education focused segment, Forward Thinking.
The following day was Maine BioScience Day and two architects from SMRT Architects and Engineers visited their classroom to present some of their work on local and international STEM lab designs and how they have evolved with emerging technologies.
