PAE Education Academy Classroom Management Teacher


Portland Adult Education (PAE) is looking for a teacher for its Classroom Management course. This  course is offered as part of the New Mainers Resource Center Education Academy, a program done in collaboration with PPS TeachPortland. The purpose of this program is to prepare foreign trained educators or new Mainers interested in a career in the education field for jobs as Ed Techs or teachers in Maine schools. The Education Academy is made up of several courses (Educating Exceptional Students, Teaching that Promotes Student Learning, Classroom Management, and Becoming a Maine Educator), a practicum experience in a local school and advising and support to apply for Ed Tech or teacher certification in Maine. All classes in the 2020/21 school year are being offered remotely during the evening.

The Classroom Management teacher will be hired as an hourly teacher and work as part of a team of teachers and staff who provide the courses and support to students who are part of the Education Academy. The class is planned for spring 2021 running late April through June and is expected to be offered annually.   


We are looking for a K-12 teacher with knowledge of classroom management techniques, including remote teaching.
