 | Students’ Creativity Highlighted in Youth Art Month Show at PMA Posted on 02/29/2016 Creative works of art from 13 Portland Public Schools’ students will be among the artwork of Maine students displayed during the month of March at the Portland Museum of Art. The multimedia exhibit, sponsored by the Maine Art Education Association, highlights Youth Art Month, a national celebration sponsored by the Council for Art Education.

 | CBHS ‘Teen Closet Sale’ To Help Finance Community Service Trip Posted on 02/24/2016 Casco Bay High School juniors will hold a “Teen Closet Sale” on Saturday, Feb. 27, to help raise funds for their “Junior Journey,” a community-service trip to Detroit in April. While there, the students will work with a nonprofit organization to help revitalize blighted housing in that Michigan city.

The faculty team – called the Rampagers – placed fourth in a crowded field in what is billed as “the ultimate international knowledge competition.”

 | Students’ ‘International’ Lobster Buoys Part of New Mainers Exhibit Posted on 02/04/2016 Earlier this week, Make It Happen! students from Lyman Moore Middle School and Casco Bay High School painted lobster buoys with the flags of their home countries alongside University of Southern Maine's artist-in-residence, Natasha Mayers. On Thursday, Feb. 4, the buoys will be hung on the Maine Historical Society's fence in conjunction with the opening of the society’s “400 Years of New Mainers” exhibition, a celebration of the rich diversity of Portland.
