Student Advisory Committee
PPS collaborates with representatives from each high school to ensure student voice in district-wide decision making.
The Student Advisory Committee was launched in early 2022 after insights gained from Portland Empowered’s ReImagine Education youth-led projects during the summers of 2020 and 2021. The Student Advisory Committee centers student voice in district-wide decision making around academics and school culture.
Some of the overarching goals of the committee are to:

Create more transparency between district leadership and students

To improve communication between district leadership and students
- For students to advise district leadership on real time decisions and to contribute to policy creation and/or revision.
