Emergencies: Call 911
Urgent work requirements (utility
outages, indoor environmental quality, water leaks, etc.): Please
contact city of Portland’s Public Buildings staff immediately. All
safety, health and security issues should also be communicated to the
Portland Public Schools Director of Facilities Planning, Management & Maintenance as soon after first responders are contacted as possible.
Building maintenance: All
Portland Public Schools day-to-day building maintenance and project
work is managed by the Director of Facilities Planning, Management & Maintenance
Site maintenance: City
of Portland Public Services and Recreation Department professionals and
contractors provide mowing, snow plowing, athletic field maintenance,
landscaping and related services on a reimbursable basis. Any special
requests including Day of Caring support shall be pre-approved by the
district's Account Manager or the Facilities Coordinator.
Custodial operations: The Custodial Supervisor along with The Facilities Coordinator approve day-to-day custodial purchases,
aligns staff to meet ever changing requirements, and is involved in the
training, hiring and firing of staff. School principals set the
cleanliness standard for their facility within the resources available,
supervise the head custodian, and work with the Facilities Coordinator
on budget development.
Planning/ Work By Others: The Director of Facilities Planning, Management & Maintenance is the single point of contact for any
facilities planning requirements as well as any work on school grounds
or in school buildings, including projects funded by grants and donated
services and/or labor.
