The Holy Donut

A family-owned business created by a single mom with a dream for healthier doughnuts, The Holy Donut serves gourmet doughnuts made with Maine potato flour and all-natural ingredients. With more than twenty flavors available to choose from on any given day, The Holy Donut is a Portland staple. 

Coastal Creamery

Found in the heart of the Old Port, Coastal Creamery features homemade and locally made ice cream and cookies with an ocean-themed flair. Featuring delicious cookie flavors such as M&M, Heath Bar, and Snickerdoodle, Coastal Creamery has many options to choose from.

With a mission centered on good food that brings people together, Forage uses fresh ingredients from the local Portland community to create delicious wood-fired baked goods. Forage’s delicious cookies are cooked to perfection with fluffy interiors and crusty exteriors.

Ocean House Bakery

Known as having Maine’s favorite gluten-free and vegan baked goods, Ocean House Bakery in Cape Elizabeth is a favorite in the Greater Portland area. Using all natural locally sourced ingredients, each sweet treat is made fresh every morning for exquisite flavor and quality.

A neighborhood market featuring imported specialties, Maine food products, and Roman inspired street food, Monte’s has quickly become a Portland favorite to locals and tourists alike for their delicious pizza and Italian desserts.

With more than fifty years of experience in the restaurant industry, Dina’s prides itself on making delicious food for the Portland community with love. With a large menu boasting Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Egyptian flavors, Dina’s features delicious dishes based on recipes that have been passed down through generations. 

Cassava Cake

A traditional Filipino dessert, cassava cake is a moist cake made with grated cassava, locally known as manioc, coconut milk, and condensed milk with a custard layer on top. It is a popular dish throughout the Philippines and the diaspora, and is often eaten for a light meal or snack, known as merienda.

African Beignets

Known as mikate in the Congo, puff puff in Western Africa, or more commonly as African beignets, these fried dough balls are a popular dessert throughout the continent. With a lightly crisp exterior and a pillowy soft interior, African beignets are a popular choice for an afternoon snack, and are especially nice served with a side of peanut butter for dipping.  

Brigadeiros

A classic Brazilian dessert, brigadeiros are traditionally made of condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter. A popular treat throughout the country and beyond, brigadeiros are often eaten during festive events, but can be found in bakeries and snack shops all year round. 

Pastelitos de Guayaba

Also known as Guava and Cheese Pastry, Pastelitos de Guayaba is a flaky, sweet, and creamy Cuban dessert that is best served with a warm cup of coffee. Made using puff pastry, guava, and cheese, the dish is often fondly remembered as a childhood favorite and is a classic in Cuban cuisine. 

Pineapple Buns

Popular in Hong Kong and Chinatowns around the world, a pineapple bun is a fluffy dessert bun made out of milk bread. Despite the name, pineapple buns do not contain pineapple, but instead were aptly named for their baked sweet topping resembling a pineapple’s exterior.
