DHS Drama To Present ‘The Miracle Worker’

The Deering High School Drama Club cordially invites the community to attend a performance of Deering High School's fall play, “The Miracle Worker,” on Nov. 22, 23 and 24.

“The Miracle Worker,” by playwright William Gibson, is the story of Helen Keller and her teacher Annie Sullivan.  The play deals with the challenges and rewards of teaching and learning while telling the story of a child who overcomes tremendous challenges.

The three-act play will be performed Friday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. ; Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 24 at 1 p.m. The show runs approximately 2 1/2 hours. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Middle school drama club students and their parents are invited to phone the school at 207-874-8260 to make a reservation for complimentary tickets to any performance. Drama club advisors are also invited to be Deering Drama’s guests.

The cast includes: Noah Craig, Ashley Daigle, Xander Dufour, Evelyn Fieldroy, Altana Johnson, Noah McLeod, Owain Milliken, Alexis Nicholas, Finley Olore, Alexandra Russell, Ramona Toppan (Longfellow Student), and Cedric (the dog).

The stage manager is Alexis Bosquette and assistant director is Bridgid Amato.  About 20 students are serving on various technical crews.
