First, Deering High School senior Daniela Aryaie became the champion of Deering’s school-level Poetry Out Loud contest. Now, she’s headed to the Poetry Out Loud state championship in Waterville on March 2, after her success in the Southern Maine Regional Finals on Feb. 10.
Daniela’s performance at that contest at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center earned her a spot as one of the top five finishers from the regional finals who will advance to the Poetry Out Loud Maine State Competition. The winner at the state level gets a chance to compete in the national finals in Washington D.C.
