 | Lincoln’s ‘Heart Hero” Inspires School CPR Lessons Posted on 02/11/2015 Each year, Lincoln Middle School participates in Hoops For Heart, a physical activity-focused education and fundraising event co-sponsored by the American Heart Association. And this year, the school has a “Heart Hero” for the event, 13-year-old Meghan Dadiego, a Lincoln Middle School eighth-grader who collapsed in September from sudden cardiac arrest at a dance studio and survived because her instructor knew CPR.

| CBHS Student to Host ‘Black Stories Matter Cafe Night’ Posted on 02/10/2015 Casco Bay High School seniors each year do Senior Expeditions in which each student designs a personal learning expedition that meshes a personal passion with a need in the world. Senior Kim Henry is focusing her expedition on the theme, “Black Lives Matter,” and will host an evening of storytelling on Thursday, Feb. 12, to explore that theme.

| PATHS Fashion Students' Sew-a-thon for ALS Cure Posted on 02/10/2015 Fashion Marketing students at the Portland Public Schools’ Portland Arts and Technology High School (PATHS) will hold a sew-a-thon on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to raise money for a cure for ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The sew-a-thon will be held in memory of a student’s mother, who died in December from the disease.

Now a new Educator-in-Residence program in which Kieve educators are spending 10 weeks at the two middle schools will help reinforce what the students learn from their Leadership School experience.
