 | Deering Thespians Put on a ‘Dream’ Performance Posted on 03/23/2016 Deering High School Drama, under the direction of English/Drama teacher Kathleen Harris, was one of eight schools to participate in the Maine Drama Festival Regional Competition held at Thornton Academy March 4 and 5. Deering High School placed fourth at the festival with the students’ rendition of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

 | Hall School Referendum Set for April 5 Posted on 03/14/2016 Portland voters will be asked to approve the construction costs for a new Hall School on Tuesday, April 5, in a special citywide municipal election. The referendum seeks the authorization for the construction of a new Hall Elementary School on the existing site at a total cost of $29.7 million. All but $1.4 million of the bonded amount would be reimbursed by the state.
