
The community is invited to Rock Around-the-World – a night of live music, international dance, delicious multicultural food, a raffle and entertainment! All proceeds from this unique FUNdraiser, put on annually by the Portland Public Schools’ Multilingual & Multicultural Center, will go to support the education of PPS language learner students.
Rock Around-the-World will take place on Friday, March 18, from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Italian Heritage Center, located at 40 Westland Avenue in Portland.
Live music will be provided by Silent Force – Afrobeat; Island Beats –calypso, soca and other Caribbean beats; and DJ Onax, Portland's own world-dance-music DJ. A cash bar will be available for those aged 21 and older.

The Multilingual & Multicultural Center oversees language acquisition for Portland Public Schools’ language learners K-12, providing after school and summer school programming, parent/community outreach, language assessment, and professional development training for teachers.
