Lyseth Elementary School will hold its annual “Greening Day” on Thursday, May 17, when all students will be engaged in “green” outdoor activities during the all-day event. A visiting artist also will be working with students on a “green” art project.
The day coincides with the United Way of Greater Portland’s Dirty Hands & Big Hearts Day of Action, also being held on May 17. On that day, volunteers perform projects at local nonprofits and schools.
Lyseth is slated to have eight United Way volunteers, and the school will be hosting a lunch for those volunteers and about 20 parent volunteers from 12:15 p.m. to - 1:15 p.m.
