This is the image for the news article titled Superintendent Letter to Families on MaskingSuperintendent Xavier Botana has sent a letter to families announcing the district's return to required masking indoors and on buses for students, staff and visitors as of Thursday, May 12, due to high rates of COVID-19 transmission. 

"This step has become necessary to help keep everyone safe as positive cases of COVID-19 are rapidly increasing in our community and schools," the superintendent wrote. "Cumberland County is now categorized as "red" or "high" by by the federal CDC COVID-19 Community Levels tracker. Our pooled testing results and local wastewater data also indicate high positivity rates."

The superintendent encourages everyone to begin masking even before Thursday, if possible.
